GPU Certification Standard
The rigorous forensic analysis every graphics card must pass to earn the Assurd Certified seal. We do not just 'test' hardware; we audit it.
Phase 1: Physical Triage & Electrical Safety
Before applying power, the unit undergoes a microscopic visual inspection to verify PCB integrity. We reject any unit showing signs of micro-corrosion, liquid residue, or physical trauma to the PCIe interconnect.
- 12V Rail Short Check (Multimeter)
- 3.3V Rail Resistance Check
- PCIe Lane Data Line Continuity
- Capacitor & Inductor Visuals
Phase 2: The Hardware Oracle
We connect the device to our isolated intake server. Our custom lookup_hardware script queries the GPU BIOS directly, bypassing OS-level spoofing. We extract the Vendor ID, Device ID, and Sub-System ID to cryptographically verify the card's identity against the Master Specification Database.
> VERIFYING CHECKSUM... MATCH
> DETECTED: NVIDIA AD104 [RTX 4070 Ti Super]
> VRAM: MICRON GDDR6X 16GB
> STATUS: GENUINE
Phase 3: Thermal Saturation Test
The card is subjected to a sustained load using 3DMark Time Spy Extreme. This is not just about score; it is about thermal delta. We measure the difference between the GPU Core temperature and the GPU Hotspot temperature.
The 15°C Rule: If the delta between Core and Hotspot exceeds 15°C, it indicates dried thermal paste or uneven mounting pressure. These units are flagged for refurbishment (re-pasting) before re-testing.
Phase 4: Signal Integrity & Artifacting
We run VRAM-heavy workloads (OCCT VRAM + Cyberpunk 2077 Path Tracing) to fill the frame buffer. Our automated vision system monitors the output for 'snow', texture corruption, or artifacting that indicates failing memory modules.
Phase 5: The Assurd Certification
Only if a unit passes all electrical, thermal, and performance gates with a Health Score above 90 does it receive the digital certificate. This PDF report travels with the card to you, providing immutable proof of its condition at the time of sale.
